It is applied as a reactant for synthesis of ferrocene-based bidentate phosphonite ligands for rhodium(I)-catalyzed enantioselective hydroformylation, metallocene-bridged bisphosphaalkene and as a catalyst for synthesis of oligonuclear heterometallic complexes.
